Festive Whimsy & Fine Art Show / Sale
Festive Whimsy & Fine Art Show / Sale to be held December 6th & 7th at Straw Town Store on Washington St., Pella, IA in conjunction with Pella Christmas Tour of Homes.
Marlys' Garden with Ruthann Van Vark has been accepted as vendors to the show. We're so excited!
We will again be donating all our earned proceeds to "Building A Dream" to help build a new home for our friends the Sue Spece family.
The Building A Dream team has sent us darling snow people & large and small Christmas angels to sell. We have gorgeous fabric wreaths for you, plus natural gourd wreaths, Christmas center pieces & décor in our papercrete planting dishes, Ruthann's Christmas collages, & Christmas pickles, & birdhouse planters filled with fun decorations.
Warning! At our last sale the snow people went fast and the angels just flew off the shelves. We only have 4 large garden angels left and a limited number of little garden angles.
This is a boutique style showing set up so items are intermingled with other items. Hope to you can come support our fund raising.
Merry Christmas!

New Adventure for Marlys' Garden
FARMER'S MARKET
I've been helping my daughter, Annie / Ruthann Van Vark @ the Pella Farmer's Market on Thursday afternoons this summer. Annie decided to go to FM to sell her brown eggs. And well, one thing led to another.
We have been bringing planting dishes nicknamed "bucket bowls" to FM. These are unique planters made from a product called papercrete. It's like hypertufa but made from shredder paper, perlite, & Portland concrete. We have donated all of the money from our papercrete products to Building A Dream in the Country. A fund to build an all handicapped accessible home for our friends the Spece family near Independence, IA. We will be designing these bowls for winter bouquets soon. Learn more about papercrete @ http://marlysgarden.blogspot.com/ previous posts.
We brought some beautiful fall décor & gourd fall center pieces to market this week. We had fun doing them and my grand daughter, Marlee helped. She is quite the worker and quite the designer.
Last Pella Farmer's Market is October 24, 2013
