I've been helping my daughter, Annie / Ruthann Van Vark @ the Pella Farmer's Market on Thursday afternoons this summer. Annie decided to go to FM to sell her brown eggs. And well, one thing led to another.
We have been bringing planting dishes nicknamed "bucket bowls" to FM. These are unique planters made from a product called papercrete. It's like hypertufa but made from shredder paper, perlite, & Portland concrete. We have donated all of the money from our papercrete products to Building A Dream in the Country. A fund to build an all handicapped accessible home for our friends the Spece family near Independence, IA. We will be designing these bowls for winter bouquets soon. We brought some beautiful fall décor & gourd fall center pieces to market this week. We had fun doing them and my grand daughter, Marlee helped. She is quite the worker and quite the designer.
Last Pella Farmer's Market is October 24, 2013
